Sheep Book Review: One Bite To Passion

One Bite to Passion, by author MaryLynn Bast, is an erotica novella with paranormal elements. It's a quick read for anyone looking to scratch a romantic itch in an afternoon.

Plot:
On a business trip to Japan, Paige has just found happiness with Casey, an exciting, young man with a passionate interest in Paige. After a night of wild sex, feels like a new woman. Drawn to Casey, Page can’t refuse him even though he says he wants to possess her and she learns he is a vampire. Then Paige's unfaithful husband, Dalton, shows up. He has supposedly broken off his affair, but Paige suspects he is still seeing his mistress. Soon, Paige begins to notice disturbing things happening around her and discovers she has become the center of a battle between covens who consider her The Chosen One. But when she faces the greatest peril of her life, and Casey shows up to help, Page realizes she is willing fight the covens side-by-side with him, if it means the chance of a future with this vampire she has come to love.

Things start out a bit slow in the beginning of this story; a lot of focus is placed on the bar scene, late night hookups, and drinking till the midnight hours. As the story picks up the drama unfolds and a ton of mystery is placed on the lead characters and what possible motivations could be leading to the final conclusion. This book is most surely for the 18 and up crowd with heavy erotic themes and situations. The faint of heart should proceed with caution cause the pages will literally burn up with the passion! Hot! Men in uniform? Um, yes please.

I would have liked a little more background before the climatic ending and some additional focus on the vampire clans and political gainings from each side. A unique twist is placed on these vampires and I would have loved to dive a little deeper into those subjects. The characters at the back half of the story held a ton of intrigue and mystery so much so that I wish the first chapters had been trimmed to leave more room for later development. That being said you do get a good bang for your buck.

    1. Yeah agreed. Longer would have worked well for this one. Or like I stated above really cut back a lot of the drinking stuff in the first chapters. That way we can get a more in depth story on the vamps. :)
