Book Review: Dragon's Mate by Beverly Ovalle

Today Annie’s dragons will shift and fulfill her every desire, which means a fiery threesome—and true love.

Beverly Ovalle's erotica short story, Dragon's Mate is surprisingly well written given that it is only an estimated 41 pages. Let me stress that Dragon's Mate is EROTICA, not erotic romance. This is a short, sexual story about Annie, who, after she was attacked, moved to the countryside with two dragons she bonded with at a shelter. Unbeknownst to her, the dragons are shifters who are just giving Annie time to heal before revealing that she is in fact, their true mate.

Dragon's Mate is not for every one, it's a m/f/m ménage with very graphic sexual scenes that the erotica genre is known for. Author Beverly Ovalle didn't just write one erotic encounter after another, she also made sure to include a few humorous scenes between Annie and her dragons. In just a short amount of time, Ovalle establishes Annie as a strong female who finds herself living alone so soon after she was attacked, she doesn't allow fear to take over her life and she's a very selfless person. Brand and Tine, her dragons are dominating but not overbearing, they genuinely care about Annie's feelings and fear that she will reject them.

My only real complaint is that it was too short and these three characters could have had a longer storyline. Perhaps not a full blown novel length story, but definitely longer than it was.

If you're a fan of erotica, then I highly recommend Dragon's Mate for your e-reader.

Beverly Ovalle lives in Wisconsin with her husband Edmond of 23 years, her daughter Susannah, her son Nicholas (when he is home on leave from the Marines), a cat and two Chinese Water Dragons. Having her own Dragons is expected as she is dragon crazy and anyone that walks in her house can tell.

Beverly has traveled around the world thanks to five years in the US Navy and has worked for the government in one capacity or another for the past 30 years, from Sailor to Street Walker(my Dad shakes his head at my description of being a mailman) to Postmaster.

Beverly has been reading romances since her Aunt introduced her to the gothic romance in the fourth grade and is still reading every chance she gets. She is currently reviews books in her spare time and is Adjutant for her local AMVETS (American Veterans) post.

  1. I like it when an Alpha hero is protective, but not too overbearing(: I am going to give this a try it sounds like a fun read though I'll probably wish it was a bit longer too.
