Review
Aden is an extremely powerful vampire and most likely the next in line to become the Midwestern Vampire Lord. Before he was turned into a vampire he was a sex slave for a cruel master, so when he finds out that another vampire is kidnapping woman and selling them in the slave network, he's more than a little angry about it.

Sidonie (Sid) is a reporter trying to stop the slave trade. The slave traders find out she's snooping around and to send her a message they kill a woman she knows, hoping that will deter her from snooping further. It in fact, does the exact opposite and she's more determined to find a way to stop the slavers now more than ever.

This is the first book in the Vampires In America series that I've read and while my 'go to' genre is paranormal romance involving vampires, there are just a select few series that I keep going back to, this will be one of those series. D.B. Reynolds has created a vampire society with characters full of depth, charm and charisma. This is a welcome addition to the wonderful vampires series we already have available.

The only element that I would have liked to see more of is Aden's dominant side. We get teases and glimpses into it, but it would have taken this story to a whole other level had he let loose a little bit more and shown us more of this side of himself.

Aden is a fast paced, adventurous look into a vampire society and I am looking forward to reading more.

I give this book 4 sheep
