Sheep Book Review: Bite Me by Shelly Laurenston

Bite Me
The Pride Series
By: Shelly Laurenston
Paranormal Romance

Plot:
Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots. When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life's irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad's untimely and unexplained demise.

That's where Vic Barinov comes in--or his house does. Vic can't step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he'll have to woo her at high speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge. . .

Fans of this series are sure to enjoy keeping up with some of the previous characters. The author does a great job of bringing previous packs back into the mix, while creating a new storyline. Adding to that the unique humor and off the wall situations and you're sure to keep the pages turning on this heartfelt romance.

This is a series about shifters, so you're either going to get on board with that fact or not. For those that like it, these guys and gals are hard-hitting-in-your-face-animals. I'll admit, that took me some time to warm up to when I first started the saga. But adjust I did, and now I can enjoy all the fun right along with the cast of whacky characters.

I'll recommend that all newcomers start at the beginning of this series. While some previous books may have been "okay" to read as a standalone, Bite Me is really one you need to work up to. Our main characters both have a past and history and you'll see that in previous books as they move forward.
You have to know Livy to love her, cause she's a honey badger and they don't give a fu@$! That is your warning, strap in and get ready cause you're in for a shifter treat!

On top of all the fun these characters have, there's a lot of love and depth that's built. By the time our leads get to the climax, you're primed and ready! These two have a very different type of relationship and that's awesome. You can't have all your characters fall in love the same way, that won't work!

This is a good read for both PNR fans and shifter lovers alike. I'm sticking with this author for all the madness and I hope you will too!

  3. There are a lot of books in the series and it can be hard to catch on to Shelley's voice and intent too far in. But they are hilarious and sometimes a bit edgy.
