The Story So Far...

In Snap City, an alien spore transformed a group of street beatniks into the super-powered band of heroes known as The Atomics. These costumed adventurers aligned themselves with Frank Einstein A.K.A. Madman. Currently, Madman and two other Atomics are on an intergalactic music tour with Red Rocket 7, leaving the remaining Atomics on their own on earth, which is where our story begins...

I enjoyed this new series; there's a wide and colorful variety of characters both of the hero and villain kind, the costumed characters and their nicknames are enjoyable, the illustrations are bright and well done, the writing is sassy and fun, and overall it made for an enjoyable reading. It seems the main character is definitely of the girly ass kicking kind (she's a buxom blonde dressed in super bright and girly colors, her inner thoughts are done in girly colors/lettering). Also her super power is of the shape shifting category- she can take on the property of whatever she touches. For instance in the book she touches a plastic bag, so it helps her fly like a butterfly through the air.

It's nice to see that when not fighting crime or being experimented on by a crazed and sarcastic/funny Salvador Dali (the famous surrealist painter) look alike she spends her time doing normal things like playing video games. YES! girls like to play ass kicking video games too! I'd play any shooter game such as Max Payne 3 any day over a goofy dancing/singing game...stock me up on ammo and painkillers and let me loose!! So yes, I appreciate a super hero gaming girl!

While they main character is quite girly, there's a nice balance of other characters and crime fighting action for the guy readers too! Plus she's easy on the eyes, so I'm sure guys could enjoy that too! ;)

I give this fun new series 3.5 atomic sheeps

It Girl's take down of the week: purse snatcher....Tip: Don't snatch a woman's purse, most of us carry everything but the kitchen sink in them and we're not afraid to give you a concussion by beating you up the head with them.
