Character Confessions: Nikolai Itzov from Love Me to Death by Marissa Clarke + giveaway

Nikolai Itzov, the sexy slayer (an elite law enforcer descended from Azrael) is here to make a confession. Unfortunately he also has a few choice words for his author Marissa Clarke!

Nikolai: So, I don’t want to be here. She’s making me do this—that Marissa Clarke woman.

Marissa: I’m right here, you know…

Nikolai: She never listens to what I want.

Marissa: …hearing every word you say.

Nikolai: Doesn’t give a rat’s ass for my needs or feelings and makes me do all kinds of sh** I don’t want to do.

Marissa: And I let you do things you want to do, too.

Nikolai: Yeah, but you made me wait way too long.

Marissa: I helped you out by writing that scene in the shower, right?

Nikolai: …

Marissa: You’re here today to confess something.

Nikolai: Okay. My author’s a bi—

Marissa: Not about me. About you. The readers want to know something about the hot, badass Slayer. Preferably something from your childhood.

Nikolai: Again, you’re making me do something I don’t want to do.

Marissa: (long, intense glare, like the ones she uses on her real life family)

Nikolai: Fine. A confession from childhood: When I was little, I used to pretend I was the commander of the Slayer army and cut the heads off of my sister’s dolls with a pretend sword. Everything was fun and games until she borrowed Mom’s real sword and threatened to cut off a necessary part of my anatomy. One of the fortress guards pulled her off of me before she got my pants down to carry out her threat. Is that good enough, Marissa?

Marissa: It’s a good thing the guard intervened.

Nikolai: Yeah, if she had succeeded, you wouldn’t have much of a book, would you?

Medical research scientist Elena Arcos has always lived her life under the radar. When she is shot in a convenience store robbery, Elena finds herself rocketed into supernatural insanity courtesy of a sexy immortal law enforcer. He’s convinced she’s some kind of freaky half-vampire thing and that her deceased dad was the real deal: a blood sucking monster. Yeah, right.

Nikolai Itzov never anticipated battling the urge to kiss the offspring of his father’s murderer. As a Slayer, an elite law enforcer descended from Azrael himself, his orders from the Underveil General are clear: Kill her or die.

Nikolai and Elena find themselves in a life and death battle to stop a plot designed to lift the Underveil and enslave humans. With her analytical mind and his centuries of training, they might be able to foil the plot with their lives and maybe their hearts intact. But in order to succeed, he must help her become the very thing he hates the most: an Undead.

  1. Just finished this for my own tour stop last night... sooo good!

I definitely would have been ready to help Aleksi during those first few chapters. You're kind of a dick Niki. Glad to see Elena stopped tolerating your crap.
