Sheep Book Review: Archangel's Shadows by Nalini Singh

Archangel's Shadows (Guild Hunter #7)
By: Nalini Singh
Paranormal Romance

Plot:
In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot—should not—be walking the streets.

This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves…

Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.

I want to live inside Nalini's mind, not in a creepy skin coat way, but just for a day I want to nestle in there and see what's going on. The worlds she can paint with her written word are just beyond anything I could ask her. The depth in each character is unique and authintic. And that's really what we seek at the heart of a good book isn't it? Authenticity?

Here we are at book 7 and all I want to do is force myself to stop gorging on the pages like a vampire addicted to blood. I make myself walk away and take a break, trying to prolong the inevitable end that I know will crush my heart and make me long for the next instalment. I'm addicted. But that's me, a lover of books!

Ash has been playing a dangerous game with the alpha Janiver and this man always gets what he wants, in the end. He's been super patient and played with his meal for long enough. Now, it's time to feast! And feast he does! I loved how the couple finally comes togehter. And all the while you get the side story of the ever changing main plot-line with Elena and Raphael.

Ash is a leather clad badass and she meets every challenge head on. I loved her character in previous stories and she's yet to let me down. Janiver just plays off the romantic steam and helps the whole story boil over to perfection.

There's so much more to come in this saga and I can't wait to get my whole being soaked in Singh's literary world of wonder and heartache! It's rips on my vamp heart and makes it want to beat another day!
