Lincoln Marshall has failed. The Godslayer is trapped in her worst nightmares. His only chance of repairing the timeline is dead. He's stuck a decade in the past with Sophie Keyes, and the world is falling apart.

Held captive by the Union, Lincoln and Sophie must fight to repair a timeline rapidly unraveling.

James Faulkner has survived, but he's not whole. He's divided into angel and demon--his ambition and obsession severed from his power and passion. His angel side wants to rescue Elise. His demon side wants to rescue the world, at any cost--even if it means letting Elise die. Between their brilliant minds, they've conceived a plan that can repair the timeline. The only price is their lives.

Lincoln finds himself in another timeline and this one is even worse than his original timeline. Elise is trapped in a living nightmare with her biggest enemy and James has been split in to literally as an angel and a demon. Lincoln wants to fix the timeline and return to his world with Sophie but to make this happen people will die.

Reine has the ability to create many different worlds within her books that most of us can’t even imagine. Lincoln, Sophie, Elise, James, and Betty are at the center of this book where the only one with enough power to fix the mess is Sophie but does, she want to fix this world that is not her own and live here for the rest of her life? The characters are complex and full of depth that most of us can relate to in one way or another. This book might make your head spin too but all in a good way.

Book Review: The Second Coming (The Ascension Series Book 8) by SM Reine

Elise Kavanagh was once known as the Godslayer - a woman born to kill Adam, a man become God. But she defeated him and stepped into his role, taking her lifelong partner into the pantheon with her. Now she must navigate her mortal goals with her divine life, beginning with substantiating into an avatar to have James Faulkner's baby, and ending with vengeance. Book 8 of the Ascension Series.

Elise Kavanagh and James Faulkner have lived many different lives and have been gods for an eternity. James has asked Elise repeatedly to have a baby and expand their family and she finally gave in which lead them both to avatars to accomplish this goal. Even though they planned the aspects of their avatars, things never seem to go as planned.

Elise and James have led many different complications throughout Reine’s different series, either by being the lead characters or by quietly existing in the backgrounds of her stories. Each time they appear their characters take on more depth that really shows the imagination of the author. This book has opened up infinite possibilities for the Ascension series itself as well as many spin-off possibilities. It was one of the best-written works Reine has had to date.

Book Review: Priest of Skulls (Tarot Witches: The Raven Knights Saga Book 2) By: SM Reine

Priest of Skulls (Tarot Witches: The Raven Knights Saga Book 2)
by SM Reine
July 31, 2019
Pages: 187
Allene Whelan is trapped in the True Kingdom, held captive by their cruel leader Macsen. It’s her job as the newest Raven Knight to assassinate him by any means necessary. As a sylph whose greatest weapon is her body, that means seducing him…all the way to the grave.

But the closer Allene gets to Macsen, the more she realizes he’s being played by a crueler enemy: Morgause, the manipulative sidhe he regards as mother. And Macsen doesn’t seem interested in hurting Allene. The closer they grow, the less she wants to kill him.

Trapped by passion in a shadowy labyrinth of lies, Allene forces Macsen to make a choice. Does the Priest of Skulls want to rule through death, or through love?

Morgause and Macsen left a trap behind when they disappeared from the stage which allowed them to kidnap Allene and hold her hostage in the True Kingdom. Allene isn’t concerned about her situation because as a Raven Knight her job is to assassinate Macsen however she can. Since Allene is a sylph she can use her body to seduce Mascen and accomplish her goal but as she gets closer to him, she finds that he isn’t bad but is being controlled and manipulated by Morgause who is supposed to be his mother.

Reine’s imagination keeps amazing me as she is able to start and continue growing her amazing book series. The Raven Knights Saga is hot and sexy with a touch of intrigue and trouble. Allene is a nobody character who is transformed into a very powerful one who can use sex to her advantage whether she is trying to or not. The mystery character is still Keane, who I hope in the upcoming books is explored more in-depth. Magic, mystery, love, sex and betrayal are just a little bit of what you can expect from this fantastic series.

Knave of Blades (Tarot Witches: The Raven Knights Saga Book 1)

Allene Whelan is scavenging through the ruins of post-apocalypse Oregon when she finds a strange tarot card, the Knave of Blades. Touching it awakens her magic—the power of the sylph, a rare and deadly Seelie sidhe who can defeat any other of her kind. Her pollen is intoxicating. Her magic is irresistible. And she’s suddenly at the center of the Autumn Court’s war against the rebellious True Kingdom.

She’s the only person who might be able to defeat Macsen, the prophesied Fenrir who will one day grow big enough to devour the world. But first she needs to make herself strong enough to face him, and that means collecting power as only a sylph can. Joining the Raven Knights means committing more than her life to defeating the True Kingdom. She’s committing her soul…and her body.

A new paranormal romance series from New York Times Bestselling Author SM Reine.

Allene has been scavenging through what’s left of Oregon after the apocalypse and when she finds herself upon an unexpected situation, she finds a unique tarot card, the Knave of Blades. When she touches the card, it awakens the magic she didn’t know she had inside of her and she becomes a deadly and rare seelie sidhe who is able to stop other seelie sidhe making her a formidable weapon.

If you haven’t read the tarot witch series do not let that detour you from this book because even though there are some characters in it from other Reine series, it doesn’t detract from the story and you won’t be lost at all. If you love hot and steamy sex scenes this is definitely for you! Seeing inside of Faerie is something that draws you into the imaginative world that this book offers.

Sophie Keyes has been taken. Accused of breaking the laws central to the universe, she’s at risk of being erased from existence—unless Lincoln Marshall can fix her wrongs for her.

Book 3 of the A Fistful of Daggers Series.

Hold on Reine fans this one is going to throw you for a loop. Book 3 of A Fistful of Daggers is extremely well written, and the format is totally different than her other books but never fear it only made the book that much better.

Sophie has been taken by the Traveler and Lincoln is determined to get her back. The problem with that is the Traveler seems to be able to stop anything from happening and knows everything. Sophie is being accused of breaking the laws of the universe which holds the fabric together and the only way to fix that is to correct Sophie’s wrongs. Lincoln together with Sophie and the Traveler will travel back to correct her mistakes if it’s the last thing they do.

The creativity and imagination in this one are terrific! The layer upon layer of intricate details is mind blowing and where all this goes next is anyone’s guess.

Book Review: Race of Thieves (Artifact Hunters Book 1) by SM Reine

Race of Thieves (Artifact Hunters Book 1)

September 30, 2018
Pages: 189
You’d never know that Shatter Cage is a were-squirrel by looking at him. Between fake fire charms and his impenetrable confidence, everyone believes he’s the phoenix he claims to be.

The lie is a necessary part of his branding. He’s determined to become a Hero, blessed by the Oracles and venerated by legions of followers. For now, he’s just one more thief slinging magical artifacts on the black market, hoping for infamy to strike like lightning. But he’s never going to become canonized if Gutterman, demon and loan shark, gets his pound of flesh from Cage first.

A job offer from the biggest Hero cult in America lights a path to fame—and enough money to repay Gutterman. Unfortunately, Cage’s ex-girlfriend, Brigid Byrne, wants the job as bad as he does. Whoever steals an artifact named Nábrók will be hired. And Brigid doesn’t mind kidnapping, poisoning, and back-stabbing Cage to win…

The race of thieves is on. And Cage is bent on scoring Nábrók before all his bad decisions catch up with him.

Shatter Cage wants to be a Hero that is blessed by the Oracles, so he lies about his species and claims to be a were-phoenix instead of a were-squirrel. Through charms, confidence and just plain luck Cage uses his phoenix persona to be one of the best thieves around. When he receives a job offer from his favorite Hero cult, the lure of the money he needs to pay off his debts and to be part of a cult that has always been his dream there is no way he can say no.

Cage is a funny guy with a very original personality. His passion to steal things, love Brigid and be a hero only adds to his charm. This is a much different story than we are used to from Reine but just as good. Pay attention when you read, and you might find hints to past characters that may give you an idea of where some of her future books may be headed.

The biker gangs passing through Lobo Norte don’t scare Ofelia anymore. All those men are the same: scarred, homeless, and broken…just like Ofelia. They’ve become a blur of forgettable faces watching her strip. She takes off her clothes, takes their money, and wipes them from her memory instantly.

But Trouble is different. A biker with a wolf tattoo and tortured eyes, he sees beyond Ofelia’s tough disguise to a more fragile woman within. She’s drawn to him like she’s never been drawn to a man before—at least, not since she survived hideous torture at the hands of her ex-boyfriend that left her scarred physically and emotionally. She can’t forget Trouble. And she definitely can’t push him away.

There’s magic between them that neither understands. But maybe if Ofelia and Trouble can find the truth, they can release each other from the chains that bind them to Lobo Norte, to the Fang Brothers biker gang, and to the dark secrets in their pasts…

Ofelia is hiding out in Lobo Norte where she doesn’t feel so scared and broken. It’s a strange town where not everyone can find it and mail is magically delivered. She is happy with her life where she enjoys stripping for money and working behind the bar during the day shift. Biker gangs pass through often to fight in the cage and Ofelia doesn’t think twice about them until Trouble walks into her bar.

When Trouble walks into the bar, Ofelia is instantly attracted to him. She doesn’t know why he affects her like he does but she seems to affect him as well. The Fang brothers have a strong hold over Trouble but that doesn’t keep the two from creating sparks each time they are near each other. This one is hot, to say the least, and a fantastic book you will want to check out!

Spellsmoke: An Urban Fantasy Novel (A Fistful of Daggers Book 2)
by SM Reine
July 25, 2018
378 pages
It's not much of a life, taking bounty hunts on vampires. But as a disgraced former deputy, Lincoln Marshall's not exactly knee-deep in job offers, and airplane tickets are expensive after the apocalypse. His dying father is all the way across the country in Northgate. It's Lincoln's last chance to see him, and he'll do whatever it takes to get there - even though the werewolf pack in Northgate is still out for his blood.

Sophie Keyes, the one and only Historian, needs Lincoln's help. She fears the gods may be out to kill her. So Lincoln drags her back home despite his better instincts - only to learn that home's not exactly safer than Reno. Some preternatural monster is killing hospice patients in Northgate.

Sheriff Noah Adair is convinced the killers are werewolves. The werewolves are convinced Lincoln Marshall is the killer. And Lincoln thought surviving the post-apocalypse had been bad enough before all this crap.

Book 2 of the A Fistful of Daggers series.

Lincoln was disgraced as a deputy and has no job offers on the horizon, so he takes bounties and hunts vampires to get paid. He wants to use the money to find his ex-girlfriend Elise. He needs her help with an immediate problem that he faces. His plans take a turn when his cousin calls and says his dad is dying and he needs to get home as fast as he can. Sophie has an assassin out to kill her and decides the only way to stay alive and protect history is to enlist Lincoln’s help.

Sophie rejected Lincoln’s advances for a relationship in the past and he still has some sore feelings over her rejection, but Lincoln is an honorable man nonetheless and will do anything he can to keep Sophie safe. The dynamics between Sophie and Lincoln are interesting. They aren’t the type of couple you would envision together, but something about their differences draws them together as well. Family drama is always the hardest for people to face and seeing the truths sometimes if hardest of all. If you've wondered how some things came to be in other series there are some answers here so you won’t want to miss this but beware the story creates more questions for your mind to ponder.

Lonesome Paladin: An Urban Fantasy Novel (A Fistful of Daggers Book 1)
by SM Reine
April 16, 2018

God is dead. Lincoln Marshall knows who killed Him...

It's been a month since apocalypse destroyed the world as Lincoln Marshall once knew it. The new world is populated by deadly faeries, wild shapeshifters, and humans without a god. Lincoln's sins can never be absolved now that God is dead. There's nothing left for him but the bottom of a whiskey bottle.

Until Cesar Hawke comes seeking help. The undersecretary of the new Office of Preternatural Affairs has manifested uncontrollable magical powers. The only cure lies beyond the frontier of the untamed faerie worlds -- a land that no mortal man can survive. He needs Lincoln to escort him to the Winter Queen through hostile territory riddled by killer unicorns, doppelgangers, and false prophets. No big deal.

Lincoln Marshall once conquered Hell. He's certain he can conquer the Middle Worlds too -- and if he can't, he's happy to die trying.

The world was destroyed by the apocalypse a month ago, and people are still coming to terms with what and who they have become. Some didn’t return and stayed dead, others became fae, shapeshifters and other strange things. Lincoln feels that his sins can never be forgiven now that God is dead and is determined to drink himself to death.

Cesar Hawke is the undersecretary of the new Office of Preternatural Affairs, and after a month of the new world has developed out of control magical powers. He is a danger to all around him and the only cure is in the faerie worlds which no mortal can survive. Lincoln will escort him to the Winter Queen in hopes of helping Cesar and others live.

If you are a faithful SM Reine fan and have been reading all her series this is the one you’ve been waiting for. The story of Lincoln Marshall. Many of the blanks on Lincoln are filled in as well as a few other characters as well. It didn’t bother me that we were going back in time, so to speak either, it just helped enhance the books I’ve already read.

Book Review: Suicide Queen (Dana McIntyre Must Die Series Book 4) by SM Reine

Suicide Queen (Dana McIntyre Must Die Series Book 4)
by SM Reine
Sept 21, 2017
Pages: 211
There are only thirty-six hours until Las Vegas will be daylighted by the witches of the Office of Preternatural Affairs. Thirty-six hours until every last vampire in Clark County gets ashed.

A serial killing vampire is taking advantage of every last one of those hours. His perverse game means mutilated vampire fledglings running amok, and it means there's only one vampire hunter who can catch him.

Dana McIntyre's getting out of prison to do what she does best.

And Nissa Royal is waiting to receive her with open arms.

The suicide queen's been dealt. The stakes are deadly. Now it's time to show their hands and find out who has the high card - and who will be winning the soul of Las Vegas.

The Office of Preternatural Affairs has decided the only way to deal with the Las Vegas vampire problems is to have witch’s daylight the entire city which will last for 6 months. It will take 36 hours for the witch’s to be ready with the ritual, in the meantime a serial killer vampire is creating vampire fledglings and mutilating them in some very disturbing ways.

The OPA comes to Dana in prison with a proposition. Work for them on this new serial vampire killer case and get our prison or stay there and continue to be beaten and probably killed. Dana wants to kill vampires so she decides the lesser of two evils is to take the OPA’s deal. She figures she will find a way around the rules and do things her way as usual.

Dana’s character is complicated. She has a I don’t care about anything attitude and my way is the only way but cracks in her armor show occasionally for those she cares about. She is bound and determined to fight for Penny even if she is the only one that sees thinks Penny is fragile. The amount of time that Reine has spent developing each character is phenomenal. I know that her books are written rather quickly but you’d never know that from reading them. Another must read!

Drawing Dead (Dana McIntyre Must Die Series Book 1)
by SM Reine
06/21/2017
Pages: 182
The vampire slayer is turning into a vampire? Over her dead body.

Dana McIntyre has been bitten by a master vampire. She's infected with the venom. And after killing hundreds of vampires to keep Las Vegas safe, she'd rather die than turn.

There might be a cure. But the only way to get it is through Nissa Royal, a vampire with close ties to the masters of Las Vegas. Nissa is dangerous -- too dangerous to be allowed to live, much less work alongside.

But if Dana dies, vampires win Vegas. If she doesn't die, she becomes one of the bloodless. The cure's her only chance. In this deadly game of hold 'em, Dana's drawing dead, and whatever happens next, there's no changing her losing hand. Dana only knows one thing: If she's going down, she's taking as many vampires as possible on her way out…

Dana McIntyre has been fighting monsters since before she could walk. She lost her parents to monsters and all she has ever done is fight them. The vampires hate her and would love to see her dead. Her goal is kill every last one of them, that ensures that the one vampire that has slipped through her fingers will die!

Nissa has been a vampire for four years and has never drank human blood. She feels unimaginable empathy of anyone she encounters which makes it impossible. The day that Nissa runs across Dana her world changes. She’s see someone who can teach her how to kill without feeling.

Reine is one of the best writers I read. Her books all lead forward in her world and are never boring. She has over 40 books that have weaved one of the most original stories I have ever read. Don’t miss the chance to catch this one!

Book Review: Cast in Godfire (The Magecraft Series Book 5) by SM Reine

The Magecraft Series (1-5) is now complete.

by SM Reine
March 13, 2016
Pages: 357
The gods are rallying to take down Marion, their ally and voice in the mortal worlds. She’s gotten her memories back to disastrous results. She’s destroying the faerie courts, and the rest of the universe is next. The other deities want Seth—also known as the God of Death—to stop Marion before she breaks something that can’t be fixed.

Unfortunately, when Marion looks at Seth with those eyes and insists that she’s not doing anything wrong, he wants to believe her. Marion claims she isn’t trying to rewrite history. She’s protecting it.

Seth wants to trust Marion. It’s only the universe that’s at stake, after all. And some women are worth shattering worlds over…

The final chapter in New York Times Bestselling Author SM Reine's Mage Craft series.

Marion has her memories back and seems to be back to her cold, arrogant self. Seth wants nothing more than to help her. As the God of Death, he sees everyone’s death and he wants nothing more than to help Marion. James, one of the other gods, gives Seth a small amount of time to go back and do what he must, but the cost is high.

Marion seems to be playing so many different angles it is hard to know who the real Marion is. Seth is convinced that he knows who she is, and that she only tries to do things to help others. The rest of the world sees Marion in a much different light.

Benjamin has Nathaniel Faulkner inside his body making his life miserable. Benjamin doesn’t want to change the world. He just wants to go home. He’s been missing for months and can’t figure out how to come out on top of his horrible situation.

The final book in the Mage Craft series and I was sad to see it all come to an end. I know it isn’t the final book in this long running story but it was the one that made me the saddest to see end. Absolutely a fantastic story and end, you are not going to want to miss this one! Look out for the next series by SM Reine where Marion’s half-sister, Dana, who is a vampire hunter gets bitten.
