I had been talking to the Marutachi lately about their hobbies. As it turns out, they're all huge card game fans. Yeah, most cards are almost as large as they are, which poses some challenge for the little balls of color... but they seem to get by just fine.
It occurred to me as I lost my third game of "war" with Murasaki that we could use cards to help pick this winner! Therefore, I had all of our candidates' names written on the front side of some cards in the deck. The deck was shuffled several times and the Marutachi spread the cards out face down and took turns picking cards until we had our finalists!
Our finalists this round were:
Stella (Ex Libris), William, McPig and Kristin
It was now on to the committee! I was expecting a lengthy debate for this contest... but was very surprised to see how quickly they came to their verdict!
Round 1
Kristin : 8
William : 7
McPig : 4
Stella : 1
Nobody got a majority! The floor is open for debate!
Barbara champions Kristin calling upon Female voters to consider Kristin's greatness
Jennifer champions William calling upon voters from the NorthWest to consider William's awesomeness
Donna champions McPig calling upon voters from the SouthWest to consider McPig's awesomeness
Dale champions Stella calling upon Male voters to consider Stella's greatness
Round 2
Kristin : 16
McPig : 2
William : 1
Stella : 1
The winner is: Kristin in 2 rounds!
It seems like the voting body rallied around Kristin for the first round of voting... I've seen this happen before, so I knew that an early majority did not guarantee victory. As fate would have it though, Barbara convinced the female voters that Kristin was the right candidate... and that seemed to carry the day!
Congratulations, Kristin!
On a more somber note, I thought that I'd take this opportunity to announce my resignation as artistic lead on the blog. It has been awesome fun drawing for you all and it tickles me to no end that I have people (published authors included!) actually wearing T-Shirts with art that I've produced.
Keep a weather eye out for me though... a review here or a doodle there... you'll see me pop up now and again! Take care!
Awesome drawing as always, Richard. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you Kristin! I will email you soon and get all your info for sending you out the shirt.
Never fear my sheepy friends Richard will not be going far. *pulls on collar around his neck* ;)
Congrats, Kristin!
ReplyDeleteBut...what's this? Richards is...leaving us? Nooooo! *sobs, throws self on floor*
Who will create the Sheep in the Family t-shirt? WHO? *beats fists and heels against floor, sobs more*
We'll miss you, Richard. Now, don't be a stranger! {HUGS} and *smootchies*
@gini awww thanks :) That was really sweet even if you do seem to prefer vehicle Voltron! BTW, Robotech was totally one of my favorite shows growing up. I could totally geek out on it for hours! Oh Saturday morning in the 80s, I miss you!
ReplyDelete"I am standing here beside myself"!!! (name THAT 80's movie if you can, hee, hee!) You can't see me but I'm doing the happy dance, really! And I must say I am truly honored to be receiving a work of art from Richard (moment of silence....)
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
