Sheep Book Review: So I Married a Demon Slayer

So I Married A Demon Slayer Anthology
Featuring: Kathy Love, Angie Fox, Lexi George

In the lusty humidity of the Deep South, among the neon lights of Vegas, and the glitz of high-fashion, demon slayers are the new sexy. . .

Hot! By Kathy Love
At Hot! Magazine, the devil really does wear Prada. When the CEO is an actual demon and the mail room guys are undercover demon slayers, it's not beyond the realm of possibility for an up-and-coming photographer and a model possessed by much more than a sweet tooth to fall in love.
What Slays In Vegas by Angie Fox
When a sexy succubus comes up against a fearless demon slayer intent on killing her boss, a truly wild Vegas night turns into a quickie wedding. But in a city where anything goes, a demon slayer wedding a succubus is strictly forbidden. Which doesn't mean either is rushing to jump out of the marriage bed.
The Bride Wore Demon Dust by Lexi George
He's perfection in a tuxedo—more so out of it—and on a mission to protect his Alabama gal from the mysterious mayhem intent on her destruction. But the bride is a spunky steel magnolia with special powers of her own, determined to drop-kick evil forces across the state line and give her slayer a run for his money.

This is a light and fun paranormal romance anthology about sexy demon slaying men falling in love. Angie Fox was the only author I was familiar with, but I was looking forward to trying out the new authors. I think novellas are the perfect medium for this purpose.

The first story Hot! was disappointing. The story didn’t really go anywhere and there wasn’t any real conclusion to the story. It also wasn’t done in the silly humorous way the other two stories were so I felt like it clashed thematically. There also wasn’t any passion between the couple or much of a conflict in the plot to encourage their romance to grow.

The second story What Slays in Vegas was fun and had some really hot smexy parts. There was even a virginal hero. Well, he was at the beginning of the story ;) When the two woke up after a night of crazy sex and found pictures of their wedding and night on the town I LOL'd. I have always enjoyed Fox’s sense of fun. The story got a little silly with the hero saving theme, but I was smiling the whole time. Here is one of my favorite passages:

He was suppose to to break into Napthulo’s casino. He was suppose to drug a succubus into giving him the pass-word to the demon’s inner sanctum. He was suppose to slay Napthulo to blow the whole operation sky high.
Instead, he had sex, got married and made tiger faces outside the MGM Grand.

The last story The Bride Wore Demon Dust was my favorite. It was hilarious! I loved reading about Bunny as she learned on her wedding day that her husband wasn’t who she thought he was. Her inner conversations about Smart Bunny vs Dumb Bunny were a riot to read. Rafe is an arrogant demon slayer from another world and I wanted to smack him as he constantly lamented about how he didn’t have human feelings of love and therefore couldn’t need Bunny, but their story was just as sweet as it was funny. The secondary characters were even fun to read. I will definitely look into other stories by Lexi George. Here is an example:

Oh, good Lord, she’d hired a plague-infested photographer. Everybody at her wedding was going to die of a pernicious, infectious disease, and there would be dead bodies and stray body parts everywhere.
Eww.
The Caterer would be pissed. She’d probably lose her deposit.

After reading these stories you will be looking for your own demon slayer cause apparently they are *really good in bed ;)

  2. I'm not normally an anthology fan, I like getting the full story of characters I like. But after reading more and more of your reviews on them I may just have to give it another try. Might be good to get a "quickie" if it's with side guys....

  6. Guys, I fully comprehend what you mean. That's really nice. Anyway, who want to start a relationship, needs to understand the importance of using dating sources. By the way, I recently got married and I needed to know the details of this thing. For example, recently my friend told me about this site sofiadate where I read a review on a dating site. In general, I can say that everyone deserves to be married and become a happy person.
