A sizzling story of a woman who risks her life and her heart to find a wealthy man’s missing sister—the first novel in a sexy new romantic suspense series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks

When Caleb Devereaux's younger sister is kidnapped, this scion of a powerful and wealthy family turns to an unlikely source for help: a beautiful and sensitive woman with a gift for finding answers others cannot.

While Ramie can connect to victims and locate them by feeling their pain, her ability comes with a price. Every time she uses it, it costs her a piece of herself. Helping the infuriatingly attractive and impatient Caleb successfully find his sister nearly destroys her. Even though his sexual intensity draws her like a magnet, she needs to get as far away from him as she can.

Deeply remorseful for the pain he’s caused, Caleb is determined to make things right. But just when he thinks Ramie's vanished forever, she reappears. She’s in trouble and she needs his help. Now, Caleb will risk everything to protect her—including his heart.

Do you like romantic psychic mysteries with a lot of suspense? Wealthy Caleb Devereaux’s sister has been kidnapped. His only hope was a psychic woman named Ramie who can find missing victims. The problem is she did not to want to help him. Caleb, furious with her selfishness, did not care what she wanted. His sister was his #1 priority and he failed to protect her. He was not leaving until she helped him find her. Except he did not know what it would cost Ramie and now a part of him.

Ramie just wanted Caleb to go away, she could not do this anymore. Her abilities may help families get their loved ones back but each time it took something away from her. Now she’s in trouble and the only person she can turn to is Caleb.

Maya Banks certainly aimed to please her readers and give them a sense of thrill and suspense. Banks gave an eerie portrayal of a twisted killer's mind but worse she gave a chilling uncanny description of the victims. Caleb will never be able to forget what he saw happening to his sister through Ramie. Caleb was a very good man and his need to help Ramie was understood especially since he helped cause some of her anguish in more ways I can describe without giving it away. You may question their relationship but we all know you can’t help who you fall in love with, it just happens, it finds you not the other way around. Caleb was a wealthy man, women wanted him only for his money and status. Ramie just wanted someone to love her, something she never had or experienced whether it was a mother or a lover.

I want to warn you that page one caused a confusion on who was Caleb’s sister which made the beginning confusing. I had to go back and reread and then reread the back cover until I realized that a simple comma was in the wrong place. Ramie was his sister, Tori’s only hope. Ramie is not his sister Tori is. It should have read Ramie, was his sister Tori’s only hope. I am telling you this so you can avoid the confusion and just sink into a good story with a great twisted (yes I said twisted) ending.

The bottom line is what would you do to protect your love ones. If you answered anything, than I definitely recommend this book to you. If you are out there like Ramie without love ones then I ask you this, what would you do if you did? I think it is the same answer either way. Is that what Maya banks is trying to tell us, I certainly think so?

About the Author:
I live in Texas with my husband and three children and our assortment of pets. I’m more of a cat person, but my daughter became convinced she NEEDED a dog.

When I’m not writing, I love to hunt and fish with my family. We all love the outdoors and go on family hunting trips every year. We also love to travel.

Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of a writing career is getting to meet so many wonderful readers. There’s nothing better than dishing books with someone who loves the romance genre as much as I do. Romance readers are passionate and vocal. We love our books, love our happily ever afters, and we love to spend time talking to others about our favorites. THIS is why I love my job so much, and I’m so grateful to readers who gave ME a chance when I began my career. So thank you.
