Thierry Thackeray is having the worst week ever. Her ex is back in town, death omens are camping out on her mother’s lawn and her estranged father has gone missing. Then there’s the small matter of the High Court requesting her presence in Faerie.

Now the wrong fae has answered her summons, and she’s stuck with a not-so-charming prince who offers to fix all her problems…for a price. She can’t afford to tell him no, but with her luck, she might not survive saying yes..

Heir of the Dog is the second book in the Black Dog series. In case you missed it make sure you grab the short story Dog Days of Summer which is included in the Nightshade Anthology by some great authors.

I was disappointed that the book started a year after the previous story. I liked how the first book ended and I was looking forward to where the story was going to go and the love story of Thierry and Jackson but needless to say I’m not the author and that’s not how it went. As usual the author did know what she was doing and the story was not a disappointment at all.

Weird things are happening. Birds showing up where they shouldn’t and a fae answering her summons that isn’t who she called. What else could go wrong? One of those questions that should never be voiced because something always goes worse. Thierry finds herself in a life and death situation and she is bound and determined to make it go her way. So many different twists and turns to this story making a magical read.
