Bound by blood. Bound by loyalty. Bound by love.

Florian has it all: excellent fashion sense, a kickass job with his best friend, and a hard-won place among Silverton’s werewolves. When a pack of females pads into their territory, Flo’s alpha dispatches him to handle a merger. Total cakewalk. Except Keely, their alpha, has no intention of submitting her wolves to Flo's larger pack. Worse, a single glance from her baby blues sends his eloquence on vacation and his heartbeat into overdrive. His flirtations seem welcome too, but there's a snag. She doesn’t know he’s a vampire.

While Flo struggles with his conflicts—obey his alpha, or win over Keely—his estranged sire blasts into town with a catalog of radical ideas. And hanging out with unsophisticated werewolves didn't make the list.

With violence in the air and all sides testing his loyalties, Florian must bite back, even if showing his fangs costs him the girl.

Giving 4 "confused but masterful" sheep!

The second book in the Silverton Chronicles is all about Florian (a vamp), his place in the werewolf pack, the return of his Sire and the difficult journey of wooing and cementing the "mate" he desires.

I enjoyed this edition of the Silverton Chronicles more than the first book. Perhaps because I was already introduced to Flo in the first episode and the background had been set for the characters. (Phew, because I had some difficulty keeping up with Ivy's ever evolving heritage in the first one!). Most of the characters have returned and I see each as possibly getting their own time in the sun...pun intended...in future installments.

I loved the newly introduced love interest named Keely. An Alpha-FEMALE pack leader jaded by the ruling of previous male-alphas. She is smart, beautiful and loyal to her female pack members who wish not to be controlled by testosterone after living through some horrendous acts of slavery and abuse by unscrupulous leaders.

Not wanting to join a male led pack, Keely seeks to keep their independence while hoping to compromise with Parker for some assistance with protection until they can add some male members to their numbers. She is not one to be underestimated. She is fierce, lethal and seemingly uncompromising in her determination to remain an independent pack leader.

Female pack leaders are an unknown commodity but Keely is not naive enough to think that she wouldn't benefit by having an alliance with a male-alpha pack leader or including male wolves in her own pack. She just needs to find a way to convince Parker to compromise his position. That's where Flo begins his tenuous walk between his loyalty to the werewolf pack and the desire to protect Keely at all cost. Throw in the return of Flo's sire to reunite his family and things get even stickier.

His sire is all things vampire. Having a Guardian as a best friend and belonging to a wolf pack (how does that even happen!?) does not bode well for Flo's chances of pleasing his father. Let alone falling for an Alpha-female wolf pack leader! Perhaps he can change his sire's attitude? Can he also convince Parker to relent and compromise with Keely? If he can't do either can her keep Keely and her pack safe from them and the new threat in town of rogue wolves? What's a vampire to do?! Read and find out.

Great storyline, easy writing style and enough romance, action, chuckles and character interactions to keep your attention through the entire book. I do recommend starting at book one for a little more background on the other players but if you don't have the time I think you will still enjoy this just fine!

I give Bound (The Silverton Chronicles) 3 ½ sheep

Florian is the vampire best friend and work partner of Ivy, the bounded heart mate of Parker, the alpha of the werewolf pack that Florian is part of. Flo is bounded to one of the werewolves, a male named Ali. Though Ali is happy about it, Flo isn’t, though he does love Ali like a good friend. Then he meets the female alpha of an all-female pack who happened to be camping out on his alpha’s land. His alpha is not happy about this camp and sends Flo out to give them an ultimatum of either merging with Parker’s pack or leave. Flo meets the alpha Keely and is trying to get her to join Parker’s pack without force. Except, even if the females did join, it may be impossible for the growing attraction between the two of them, not because he is a vampire and she is a shapeshifter, but because she hates all vampires due to her past. Worse, there are also rogues on the loose, and Florian's sire is back.

I haven’t read the first book, but I am always a quick study in reading books out of context and I was able to figure out what is what. If you cannot, then I suggest to begin with the first book in this series. If you like vampires, werewolves, romance, and urban fantasy, this is a book for you.

A Mona Lisa smile on her face, Keely circled the bed and sat at my end.
I swallowed. “About that gratitude.”

“A little thank you.” She leaned to the side and retrieved the cuffs from her pocket. “You’re so difficult to shop for.”

The metal chain looped over her outstretched finger, balancing the two rings. She’d gone for keyless toy cuffs, easy to place and remove by way of a latch.

Not too comfortable for her in the long run, but perfect for right now.

“It’s what I’ve always wanted.” I grinned. “Thank you.”

She stretched back onto her arms and raised her eyebrows. “I suggest you try them soon, in case you don’t like them and I have to take them back.”

Our knees touched. I bent over, arms framing her on both sides, and kissed her. Deep. Hard. Filled with possessive intent. My mouth laid the path for the next few hours. She was mine, and she’d soon know it.

She cupped my neck with one hand and placed the other across my pecs. Her touch raised tingles on my skin.

My tongue dominated hers, our breaths mingled. I pressed her head onto the mattress, soaked in her taste.

Dammit, that Keely flavor held too much power over me.

I shifted my hand around to her front, and ripped open her button and zipper.
