Spinning out of this year's FREE COMIC BOOK DAY hit offering and now a monthly series!

Having lost all hope in the heroes of his world, fate steps in and gives young Gavin Shaw the power to do the things they have not. Only as the teenage hero Midnight Tiger does his city have a chance at redemption.

I'm not a traditional superhero comic book reader. I prefer the dark urban fantasy ones, but the teen superhero Midnight Tiger caught my eye and pretty much anything Action Lab Entertainment puts out I like.

In Gavin's world superheroes and super villains exist and there is a special Super-Human Enforcement Force which we don't know much about at this point. Gavin is a high school student who has friends, does his homework and lives with his father (who looks like a dark skinned Zeus) who is hard on him, but loves him dearly. And Gavin has developed super powers after a pretty brutal accident.

This issue introduces us to Gavin, gives us an idea of his snarky teenage personality and introduces Infernus, Gavin's first super villain. On top of all that there is a gang problem in his school and city and the leader P. Stone is causing problems.

A pretty interesting issue #1 with an ending making me want to grab the next issue. Some of the bubbles had too many words in them and I had to zoom in. The artwork is bright and clean and the panel layout was varied and kept it interesting.
