The key would unlock his future and the safety of his kingdom,
but he never imagined the sorceress would unlock his heart…

When antiques restorer, Rowena Lindstrom, purchases an armoire containing a hidden key and a “magic” mirror, she believes the handsome warrior prince waiting on the other side is some sort of elaborate joke. Yet she cannot deny their connection seems bound by more than just the key and, as her love for Prince Caedmon grows, she agrees to join him in his realm. Prophecy intervenes in a way neither of them could have expected. Lost and alone in the Austiere Kingdom, Rowena struggles to find her place, and though she fights the heated advances of the dangerous Prince Caedmon, the attraction between them brings challenges much deeper than her troubled heart can recall.

After two torturous years held captive in the dungeons of Seviere’s Keep, Prince Caedmon returns home with more than just lash marks lacing his back. He now retains the secret behind the key, and is the only one who understands its grim connection to his beloved Rowena. Yet their enemies to the north are merely one of many obstacles determined to see them fail and, to escape the clutches of the evil Wizard Gaelleod, Rowena and Caedmon flee to the future—the one place Caedmon’s worst fears are confirmed. Though Rowena’s memories have returned, everything he loves stands to be ripped from his grasp.

The Golden Key Chronicles is an omnibus containing four books originally published as serial novellas; Rowena's Key, Chandra's Freedom, Caedmon's Curse, and Braedric's Bane. This is a time traveling fantasy tale that tells the story of Rowena and Caedmon, their love, their struggles, and their battle to set right the Austiere Kingdom that has been besieged with attacks from neighboring foes and bad magic, in turn fulling the prophecy that was given long ago.

I have to say right off the bat that had I read these installments one at a time there would have been some major cliffhanger ranting going on. In reading the four installments together in this format was wonderful and such a treat and I would venture to say this is one of the best time travel novels I have read in a very long time.

The storytelling was very well executed with superb world building and wonderfully memorable characters. There is plenty of action, intrigue, and occasional humor, as well as a love that will reach across time with some sizzling tasteful smexy thrown in rounding off the meal. The ending was very satisfying and on concluding the reading I was left with a smile on my face and a feeling that all was right with the world.

I would definitely recommend The Golden Key Chronicles to fans of time travel romance and epic fantasy, especially with the caveat that they be read in their entirety to receive the full rich experience of the tale. I received this book with a request for my honest review without any compensation whatsoever, other than the joy of reading a new book.

Born in northern Wisconsin as the middle child of three girls, I now call Northwest Indiana home, along with my loving husband, two beautiful children and several pets.

Contrary to the cliche “middle children are always ignored”, I preferred a solitary lifestyle growing up, and would often disappear for hours with either a book or journal, happily content behind my closed bedroom door. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t write. Either poetry, song lyrics or a daily diary entry, jotting down my thoughts has always come naturally to me. Each year I found a blank book waiting beneath the Christmas tree, and after I left home for college, I bought them myself.

Early on I knew I would need to get bumped around a bit before starting a writing career. So I spent the years working as an Executive Assistant in several different fields, experiencing all the fun (and heartache) a single girl can have in the big city. Soon after, I met my husband, got married and started a family, moved to Indiana and together we started a business from our home.

My days are now filled with assisting my husband, and when time allows I write, once again happily content to be left alone with a book or journal – only now my journal is a Toshiba laptop. The rest of the time I’m busy gardening, cooking, fixing boo-boos, attending sporting events, tutoring, chauffeurring, cleaning, doing laundry, and snuggling.
