Witches Protection Program
by Michael Phillip Cash

Paperback, 238 pages
May 14th 2015
Wes Rockville, a disgraced law enforcement agent, is given one last chance to prove himself and save his career when he's reassigned to a 232 year old secret government organization. The Witches Protection Program. His first assignment: uncover a billion-dollar Cosmetics company’s diabolical plan of using witchcraft for global domination, while protecting its heiress Morgan Pendragon from her aunt’s evil deeds. Reluctantly paired with veteran witch protector, Alastair Verne, Wes must learn to believe in both witches and himself. Filled with adventure, suspense and a rousing good time, Michael Phillip Cash creates a tongue-in-cheek alternate reality where witches cast spells and wreak havoc in modern day New York City.

This author is new to me and I am really glad I got a chance to do this review. I was totally invested in his story and enjoyed his characters and the easy flow of his writing.

Wes Harris comes from a family of very successful people. His father is the head of the police department and his dream was to be a success in the same field. Due to an unfortunate series of events, Wes is sent by his father to a "special ops" division for one last chance to prove himself as a serious, capable officer. Feeling snubbed and a little undeserving of this "punishment," he arrives at the new division headquarters thinking he will get in and get out quickly. Little does he know that this assignment will change the way he looks at the world!

Forever there have been "witches" among us and Wes is about to discover a new way of "fighting" crime and protecting victims. Armed with only his gun and a good intuition concerning investigations, Wes is going to get a little more "training" than he bargained for. His assignment is to protect a young witch named Morgan from the "evil" sect of witches called Willas. He must work with the "good" witches called Davinas and of course he doesn't even believe they really exist. Next, enter shape shifters and he sees a whole new meaning to "bad guys"!

There was a little humor, morals, danger, romance and self discovery in the story and I thoroughly hope there will be more to come about Wes and Morgan. There are strong roots in the story that could lead to more exciting episodes! Well Done!

I give this book 4 1/2 sheep
