You are Pink, not the prettiest girl, but smart and with plenty of resources. What do you do when your best male friend offers to have sex with you, because he thinks you’re a lost cause? You plot your revenge with your two best female friends, of course!
It seems you’re in luck when a new and mysterious student appears. And, to top it all, he seems interested in you too. He could take part in the plan. But then, he seems to have a plan of his own… He insists he’s not just an ordinary boy. And what seemed so easy to begin with, gets more and more complicated when Heaven and Hell come knocking at Pink’s door.

Pink Matters is the story of Pink, a 17-year-old girl, a good student, articulate and smart. But she has never been the centre of attention or made the top ten of the most popular and attractive girls at school. When two guys, both claiming to be angels, insist that she is, indeed, ‘special’, fight for her attention and help, and tell her she is the key to the future of the universe, she is quite cynical. But these guys can ‘do’ pretty amazing things, even miracles, so she has to wonder…

Pink (Petra for real) finds herself smack in the middle of saving our earthly existence! All she thought she had to worry about was the normal high school trials and tribulations, such as finding a boyfriend who might prove to others that she is not just a brainiac but can be desirable, making sure her grades are stellar enough to get into any college and hanging with her 2 best friends with the same problems. Then enter a hunky new guy in school who seems to be only attracted to her...now her problems really begin!

Since I read all three of these books in a row and they are now offered as a trilogy collection, I am going to review them together. In truth, if you are going to read the first one, you have to continue with the second and third to really feel the entire story. You might be a little frustrated at the end of Book 1 and it says....."the end" after leaving a major cliffhanger! And I will say that even at the last of Book 3 you will wonder if there may be another series in the making. How clever of the author: the End?

The stories are definitely geared for the young adult and I think most would enjoy the usual adolescent feelings of close friendships, intelligence not always being the most "popular" asset, wanting the "perfect" boyfriend and the discovery that life can be fragile and tomorrow is never promised. Throw in a guardian angel AND guardian demon that can stop time, reverse events and help you save the world as you know it and you have a perfect combination for any young adult or teen (probably female).

The story never lagged and kept me interested through all three books. The angel and demon concept of occupying human hosts was not unique but there were a couple twists in their earthly visitations that gave a nice flavor in the characters and kept it from going stale. And I definitely was not prepared for the ending of book 3. I won't give anything away but it is not necessarily your typical "happily ever after" fairytale!

If you are just starting out in the paranormal genre or have a young avid reader and want to give a gift of a good story and some life lessons along the way, pick this up, read it and share it!

I give this trilogy 4 sheep.

My name is Olga Núñez Miret and I'm a writer. I also do translations of other author's work. What else? I was born in Barcelona, Spain, but have lived in the UK for a long time. Over the years I've done many things and had other lives but however far I wander I keep coming back to books and stories, my two earliest loves. When reading was no longer enough, I started writing. My first book was published in 2012 and my publications span different genres, from literary fiction to romance, Young Adult and psychological thrillers. I plan on writing more novels in the same genres and if my imagination so dictates, I will explore others. I love to connect with readers, so don't hesitate to get in touch..

  1. Thanks very much, for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed them. I wrote it originally as a trilogy but I grew fond of the characters as I went along, so I wouldn't mind writing more about them. I'll see what people think. :)
