Based on the hit video game, this series tells the story leading up to the beginning of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2! Written by Paul Tobin (Bandette, Banana Sunday) and illustrated by Jacob Chabot (The Mighty Skullboy Army, SpongeBob Comics), this is a hilarious, action-packed, all-ages, zombie-fightin’ adventure!

* The hit video game franchise continues its comic book invasion with a whole new series!

I’m admittedly new to the Plants vs. Zombies craze, but my friends play the game and I’m often amused at the types of zombies and clever names of the plants, so I was more than willing to give Garden Warfare 1 a shot. This reads like the more clever cartoons I loved as a kid: fast-paced, irreverent, and loads of fun. Not only do we learn of Dr. Zomboss’s ties to the future via a metallic butt, but there are immediately strange goings on in Neighborville thanks to an influx of imps.

Throughout the issue, there’s so many great exchanges, it’s hard for me to choose a part to focus on. We’re treated to portals, strange goats, and a mysterious ice cream cruise that calls away everyone in town except Nate and Patrice. Nate and Patrice, themselves, provide a great balance of cluelessness and intellect and are a great way for kids to put themselves in the adventure. There’s a good setup of the plot and some great plants vs zombies action (and a couple strange new plants) to go with the silliness. Things are left hanging making you wonder if Zomboss has more up his sleeve than butts, and a fun twist that makes all the questions asked worth it.

I laughed a few times while reading, and it definitely took me back to the comics and cartoons I binged when I was younger-ish. This is a great title for kids, or for those adults who want to feel like one for a few pages. I can’t wait for next month’s issue.

Five zombie-fied sheep, easily.

  2. https://www.floraindia.com/flower-delivery/delhi.html Below is a list of characters that we always see in almost any video game. Without them, the video game world would not be complete. People just seem to relate to these things so fast because as children, we were told stories about them and we carry them with us as we grow up but still play video games.
