Alien Collective (Book 9)
Alien Novels
By: Gini Koch
Fantasy/Romance
Plot:
Despite not having run for office, nor wanting to remain in office, Representative Jeff Martini is being wooed as the vice presidential running mate for a charismatic senator who seems likely to win the campaign. While the Diplomatic Corps has to deal with the pressures of a political campaign sure to uncover secrets they don’t want shared with the world, Ambassador Kitty Katt-Martini has other worries—handling the reemergence of her most potent nemesis, thought dead and buried.
Gini Koch is all of the following; (and possibly more I've left out) wacky, spunky, flirty, off-the-wall, snarky, energetic, orgasm donor (she gets the joke), caring, giving, shoot first, picked up dead bodies later, sister-wife for life, Coke loving, rocker chick to the core. With a dash of cinnamon just to spice it up! This wonderful fantasy writer is ALL of these things and her amazing color pallet bleeds through to the pages. When you have this much to give, it shows in all that you do!
I've been a fan of Gini's from the moment I read her first Alien novel. She's off the wall in all the right ways, and her crazy mixed with my crazy makes one hell of a crazy baby! But he's so cute! You can call him smushy and make him your own!
Here we are, waist deep into this amazing series and Gini continues to have fun with each installment. Her characters are their own kind of wacky and I enjoy the different personalities. Main kick butt gal, Kitty Katt, is one heck of a leading woman, she's in your face at times and off in comic lala land the next. But never let this comic fangirl fool you, she knows what's doing and is bound to figure it all out! (Eventually!) Kitty is a flame-throwing breath of fresh air and I enjoy her snarky antics. Along with her unyielding love of family and friends. A protector to the core!
Alien Collective has all that you could want in a fantasy/romance story, plus a bunch of extra side dishes on the house. Gini yet again pulls no punches in serving up her dialog with gusto. With continued plotting to take out all the Aliens on Earth, her team has to save, not only their race, all innocent lives that get caught in the cross fire. Bombs are about to go off!
If you've yet to read this series do NOT start here. You'll miss out on all the fun and buildup to this point. These stories are dialog heavy with many characters and ever changing plots, if you're looking for a fast read this won't be it. Gini makes you think and the fun is in uncovering the mastermind behind each plot!
Getting 4 Sheep
The first will always be my favorite - TOUCHED BY AN ALIEN.
ReplyDeleteThe first will always be special to me, because it was that pretty, pretty cover that drew my attention and made me pick it up. The blurb then drew me in further.
ReplyDeletethe first one then the 4th^^ but the first one is really excellent ^^;;
ReplyDeleteAlien Tango. Alien in the House is very striking, but I don't think it fits the mood/style of the books as well as most of the others.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite cover is "Alien in the Family". I love the dress Kitty is wearing and would love to own a copy of it, and the body to show it off.
ReplyDeleteI really like Touch by an Alien and then Alien Collective. I love the German Shepherd on the cover :D
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts with us, wonderful review - you so make me smile. I have the first three and hope to continue on. Have to admit I am such a cover snob that even if the books weren't great I would want them, but with the tasty treats between the covers and the cover art this series is a jewel.
ReplyDeleteIt is very hard to pick a favorite - but I think Alien Research stepped a little away from the norm for the series - so lets be different and I will go with that LOL However, I really love them all!
DeleteMy favorite cover is Alien Tango. I love how Martini holds Kitty.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Alien Research, laptop in one hand and gun in the other :-)
ReplyDeleteBlind chick here, and my vote for fave cover is... Well... Can I not have one? How about fav title? Alien Proliferation, of course, with Alien Diplomacy a close second. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAlien Research just really catches my eye

ReplyDeleteI haven't started reading this author yet. Sounds interesting!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit.... I use ebooks, and so don't generally look at the covers. But I remember the first cover, so I will go with that as my fav.
