Sheep Book Review: Hunt the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

Hunt the Darkness
Guardians of Eternity #11
By: Alexandra Ivy
Paranormal Romance
Release Date: May 27, 2014

Plot:
The vampire Roke is raw, sensual, always in control. Yet somehow he's allowed the unthinkable to happen: a nymph-like witch named Sally has used her magic to trick Roke into mating with her. The pair will remain bound for eternity unless Sally breaks the spell. The trouble is, she has no idea how. . .

Mating with Roke was an accident;at least that's what Sally keeps telling herself. She's on the hunt for her demon father, whose identity holds the key to releasing the spell. The search won't be easy with Roke shadowing Sally's every move. As they mate with a ferocity that leaves them both aching for more, Sally isn't sure if her world is more dangerous without Roke--or with him. . .

I've been reading this series from the start and while a few of the previous books were not that great, Ivy comes back up to plate and hits us with a fantastic read in this ongoing vampire series! Very enjoyable!

Hunt the Darkness starts out were book 10 leaves off, Roke is on the hunt for the woman (Sally) who's "trapped him" in a mating he didn't want. Add on top of the the fact that she's a witch who creeps out the vampire nation and you have one heck of spooked vamp on your hands. As our leading couple take off to try and find a cure for this mating spell, they get into some dangerous situations and take on some nasty demons as they grow a lot closer.

The sexual tension keeps building as Sally and Roke constantly struggle with feelings they have toward one another. Is it real, or is this a love spell they feel? Prejudice about ones race and getting treated like trash by your enemies. But as they find out more about each other and end up really liking them, does it matter? Can love conquer all? It's a good question and one I had a lot of fun reading about.

Ivy adds to all this her usually flare for snarky situations with the always lovable little gargoyle Levet. While the vampire males find him a nuisance, he's saved the day a few times and should get some love now and then!

This latest installment is a fun easy read, with twists you wont see coming and love that shines off the pages. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Alpha males with a heart, mixed to a paranormal drumbeat kept me entertained and looking forward to stories to come!
